Abstract
In this paper energy saving possibilities with kiln fan in cement industry Usje are analysed. The fan is driven by medium voltage wound rotor induction motor and the air flow is controlled by a dumper. The drive works in steady state regimes for a long period and the possible energy saving depends on the dumper openness. For energy saving analysis, air flow and dumper pressure were measured and proper speed control is defined. The possible usage of existing motor and suitable medium voltage inverter, as well as, replacement with low voltage drives is analysed. Analysis is done taking into account the installation cabling and payback period of the equipment. At the end a final solution is proposed.
