Abstract
In this article, a digital control applied to a boost converter has been implemented. A brief comparison of the PWM and hysteretic controls and the advantages of the implemented one are provided. The control system studied, which does not require compensating ramp, combines the fixed frequency operation of PWM with the fast transient response of the variable-frequency hysteretic control. Advantages of digital controls in comparison with analog ones as well as simulation results of the digital control of a boost converter under 50% load perturbations are also given.
