Abstract
A converter, which makes it possible to control the mean voltage across the output from zero to input voltage with a quadratic dependence of the duty cycle is analyzed. This enables a high load current at low output voltage with better efficiency. The circuit is explained, the large and small signal model of a DC drive, a battery charger, and for driving illuminants using this converter and some hints for control are given.
