Abstract :
A grid connected inverter (GCI) with a switched capacitor inverter using series/parallel conversion (SCISPC) is proposed in this paper. SCISPC is a multilevel inverter using a switched capacitor. This inverter has less number of switching devices than the conventional multilevel inverters. By using SCISPC, GCI can be small, the harmonics of the output voltage can be reduced, and the voltage device stress of the switching devices becomes lower. The operation of the proposed inverter is confirmed by the simulation with PSIM and by the reduced power scale circuit experiment.
