Abstract
In the paper topology of Transcutaneous Energy Transfer (TET) system is presented and discussed. The system is designed to supply pump of totally implantable artificial heart. The system is based on soft switched Class-E inverter connected to inductive link (transformer) and loaded by DC load through dedicated rectifier. Two battery systems are used, external battery and internal one. The first one is main source of energy, while the second one is used during disconnections at inductive link. The system delivers to load up to 50 W of power transferred through the skin at 800 kHz. Because of efficiency requirements synchronous rectifier was used inside the human body. Presented in the paper system is a modification of know in literature systems in order to obtain more reliable and more efficient system for full contactless energy transmission.
