Abstract
Power system harmonics levels can be reduced either by improving the design of the polluting loads or by applying some arrangements in order to limit their emissions. Also, adding filters (active, passive and/or hybrid filters) in the distribution systems will reduce these emissions as well. In this paper, various approaches to calculate the capacitors values of multiple-arm passive harmonic filters are presented. The performance and the effectiveness of the proposed filters are investigated and compared with other published techniques.
