  • Abstract
    The presence of fading in radio communications is the major impairment to reach the promised capacity. Diversity is a way to limit the fading effects and MIMO is a technique to exploit it. It is shown that in terrestrial mobile radio communications MIMO is an effective techniques while for satellite systems it requires further study to exploit possible applications.
