Abstract :
This paper examines the scale of the market for superfast broadband in the European Union in the context of the EU´s Digital Agenda Targets. The results of a modelling activity are presented that show the extent to which the market alone will be able to deliver against the Digital Agenda Targets. Estimates are then derived for the percentage of homes and the costs of stimulating deployment and take-up of superfast broadband (>;30mbps).
