  • Abstract
    This paper proposes the development of modified carrier-based PWM algorithms for AC output voltage control in the Z-source three-phase inverter (ZSI), which is based on the relationship with space-vector PWM method. This approach combines advantages of the both modulation strategies for ZSI by obtaining the wide linear modulation range, less total harmonic distortion (THD) in the spectrum of output waveform and maximum boost factor. The proposed method is simulated by using Matlab/Simulink software and implemented in the experimental model. The simulation and practical results demonstrate feasibilities of proposed modified carrier-based PWM algorithms for ZSI.
