Abstract
Recently, an Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor, since the ability to combine the reluctance torque and the magnet torque, is applied on various applications. It is necessary to improve the torque and the efficiency as total drive system, in order to approach to the energy issue. This paper presents an evaluation of torque and efficiency characteristics as total drive system. The phase control, which applied to each drive method, is used for comparison experiment.
