Abstract :
Multiple inverters are needed in traditional multi drive system. In order to reduce the system cost and realize fault-tolerant operation, a dual induction motor drive system fed by an indirect matrix converter (IMC) with five-leg inverter is investigated in this paper. A control strategy for the drive system, which combines vector control technology for motors and SVPWM algorithm for IMC with five-leg inverter, is proposed. Simulation results verify the feasibility and validity of the proposed control strategy, which shows independent control of the two motors in the drive system and high static/dynamic performance.
