Abstract
This paper has investigated the new wind power generation system using inverter excited induction generator, which can generate power at the lower speed than the synchronous speed and can reduce the system cost compared with the permanent magnet type synchronous generator. To reduce the cost more, the current peak of the exciting inverter is important factor. We have investigated the active filter action in the voltage source converter (VSC) voltage control. The control scheme is verified by the simulation and experiment.
