Abstract :
This paper presents a study of a parallel hybrid excitation synchronous machine for a given railway application. The aim of the study is to demonstrate that hybrid excitation synchronous machine can be a good candidate for these applications. First of all, a specification sheet for a railway application is given. The machine structure is presented and modeled. Optimization process is described. Finally optimization results are shown.
