Abstract
Static and dynamic characteristics of a special pulsed actuator are investigated. Its plunger consists of two mutually separated parts, the first of them being made of magnetic steel, the second of permanent magnet. The device is controlled by short pulsed currents and exhibits high holding forces, while its consumption of energy is very low. Its static and dynamic operation characteristics are modeled numerically.
