Abstract :
This paper presents an improvement study on the stator core loss for the slotless PM motor. The core loss influences the efficiency in high speed applications. In this paper, a PMBLDC motor using in dental handpiece is proposed as an example to improve the core loss by altering the stator profile and the fixed pin location. And then, both FEA simulation and practical measurement are carried out to verify the alternative design. Finally, the test prototypes are developed, and a simple measurement procedure is applied to obtain the comparison results.
