Abstract
To improve the performance of an open winding interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive system, a space vector modulation based direct torque control (SVM DTC) strategy combined with Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA) concept is proposed in this paper. The MTPA trajectories are analyzed in rotor voltage frame, and then combined with SVM DTC in torque flux linkage frame. An imaginary switching time strategy is also introduced to simplify the SVM DTC strategy. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
