Abstract
This paper proposes a new single-phase 7-level inverter for alternative power generators such as solar cells and wind power generators. Multilevel inverters have an effect in reducing the voltage distortion. They can contribute to the miniaturization of the harmonic filter and reducing the switching loss because the switching frequency can be decreased. This paper shows the control technique of a new single-phase 7-level inverter. The proposed method can reduce total harmonic distortion (THD) and switching loss.
