Abstract :
A novel band notch using a newly shaped resonator consisting of a thin strip, two auxiliary strips and a connecting strip, is implemented on a planar slotted ultra wideband (UWB) antenna. The purpose of the notch is to reject the band of wireless local area network around 5GHz. Simulation results provide cogent proof to the effectiveness of the antenna in rejecting the targeted band and aiding in the simultaneous application of the antenna for wireless body area network.
