  • Abstract
In this paper, the authors present the major accomplishments in the Cornell Intense Ion Beam Program since the last beam conference 1 held in October 1977. The main goals of this program are: (1) to develop the technology of magnetically insulated pulse powered ion diodes to efficiently produce high brightness ion beams, and (2) to explore the applications of these beams, particularly to controlled fusion.
