Abstract :
The REBEX machine permitted us to compare the efficiency of plasma heating in propagating (REB) and oscillating (OREB) beam regimes. The propagating beam energy loss decreases with increasing the plasma density. The best transport (85%) was achieved at the highest plasma density (1020m-3). Plasma heating is completely due to the two-stream instability in this regime.
