Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to study the stopping power of a plasma for a relativistic electron beam (REB) by taking into consideration the induction of an electromagnetic instability. Analyzing the electromagnetic instability in REB-plasma system, we consider a homogeneous, spacially infinite collisionless plasma. Ion motions are neglected throughout this paper. The dynamics of the system under consideration is described by the relativistic Vlasov equation combined with Maxwell´s equations.
