The Study of Users and Content Comparison Based on Multiple Chinese Microblogs

With the emergence and development of Microblog in China, it has become prevalent in recent years for web media and social network to become hybrid and converged. Many Chinese Microblog platforms have been available as new network media services. Although the native Chinese Microblog services are working similar in terms of basic function and Application Programming Interface(API), there are many different characteristics in many aspects such as users features, message contents and structures. in this paper, we conduct a thorough comparison among the Chinese Microblog platforms. on one hand, we propose a method for gaining users´ information and hot topics based on Microblog APIs of the top 4 popular Chinese Native Microblog services, Sina Microblog, Ten cent Microblog, Sohu Microblog and Net ease Microblog. on the other hand, we depict the social network of the four services based on the relationships among Microblog users and analyze the content to find out what kinds of topics are hot. Based on these two procedures, we present some remarks on the differences and similarities among these four services. upon the above analysis, users´ characteristics, similarities and differences of contents based on various microblog platforms are specifically demonstrated and articulated.
