Abstract :
The L10 FePt with high magnetic anisotropy is the most promising candidate for heat assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) and bit patterned media (BPM) to further increase the areal density. From recording media application point of view, grain isolation is one of the most important issues. Most common approach is via element doping. In the present work, we proposed another approach to achieve the grain isolation via using an ultrathin Ag layer as the nucleation layer.
