Abstract :
We propose a head-positioning control system with a thermal actuator for hard disk drives. The control system was a triple-stage actuator system; the first was a VCM, the second was a PZT actuator, and the third was the thermal actuator. The simulation results showed the effectiveness of using the triple-stage actuator system.
