Abstract :
This paper compares the characteristics of the axial and radial surface tension sealing structures. By use of the finite volume method (FVM), volume of fluid (VOF), K-e turbulence model and dynamic mesh technique, the anti-shock capacity and maximum operation speed of the two structures were calculated and compared. The results are of significance to the optimal design of the sealing structure in HDD FDB spindles.
