  • Abstract
    A novel printed antenna is proposed, fabricated and tested for ultra-wideband LTE/GSM/UMTS WWAN wireless USB dongle attached to laptop computer. With a chip capacitance embedded in the design, a resonant mode at about 750 MHz is successfully excited to cover LTE700/GSM850/900 operating bands. The big radiating plate can generate two resonance frequencies to meet the bandwidth of GSM1800/1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500. Owing to its simple structure low-profile and compact size, the proposed antenna can be easily integrated in the USB dongle with the other functional modules together. The measurement result achieves a good agreement with the simulation as well as good radiation characteristics, making it promising for wireless USB dongle mobile communication applications.
