Abstract :
This paper proposed a helical antenna with a cylindrical ring above the antenna along the axial direction. Compared with the traditional helical antenna gain boosting techniques, without adding coil number, the gain of the proposed antenna is enhanced by a maximum of 3.8dB in the working bandwidth by adding a cylindrical ring, while the impedance matching bandwidth and other antenna characteristics remain.
