  • Abstract
    PSO is one of the most popular soft computing methods that has attracted the attention of many researchers. In this paper, a modified version of the PSOPC is introduced. The structure of the proposed method is similar to the PSOPC method with an additional new term in the particle velocity equation. This new term which gives more exploration property to the particle, depends on the current position of the particle and the best position of a randomly selected particle. The numerical simulations of the proposed method and some other evolutionary algorithm such as PSOPC, CPSO, and PSO in optimization of some known test functions showed the effectiveness of the proposed method.
