Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to present performance characteristics of a quick response average current mode dc-dc converter using a digital filter. The proposed control circuit performs the digital FIR filter using the moving average to control the output voltage. It also uses a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) to realize a quick response. The VCO can detect the reactor current in real time. This paper introduces transient responses of the proposed circuit. It is revealed that the proposed circuit has a superior transient response. As a result, the convergence time and undershoot of output voltage are improved to 97% and 91%, respectively. The overshoot of reactor current is also suppressed to 93%.
