Abstract
This paper deals the electromagnetic analysis to investigate the vibration sources of 100kW interior permanent magnet (IPM) machine according to eccentricities considering several operating conditions. Vibrations can shorten bearing life and are an especially important issue in marine application, which has strict regulations such as on electromagnetic compatibility. The punching tolerance makes the air-gap eccentricity, which produce the unbalanced magnetic flux density. In this study, two-dimensional (2D) finite element analysis (FEA) was used to compute vibration sources in 100kW IPM machine for ship application and the results are validated by experiments.
