Advances in video quality estimation models: An Overview

In recent years many advances and standardizations have been performed in the field of video quality estimation. This paper presents an overview of these recent advances, explaining the main ideas and contributions of the video quality estimation models. The projects of VQEG (Video Quality Experts Group) are discussed, along with the recent standards approved by ITU (International Telecommunication Union), as well as other proposed models by different group of authors. Finally, the future work in this area is outlined.
