Abstract
The Lyapunov stability of a double integrator controlled by a discontinuous-impulsive feedback with adaptation is developed. Following previous results of the authors the gain of the impulsive control is adapted to minimize the time convergence to zero of the double integrator dynamics when the impulsive control is applied. The impulsive-sliding mode adaptive controller applied to the second order system is considered as an hybrid system. The stability of this hybrid system is studied using special Lyapunov functions.
