Abstract :
This article introduces a PROFIBUS-DP intelligent slave station controller based on CPLD for a multifunctional power supply. DP communication protocol and DP slave state machine is introduced briefly while this paper focuses on design of DP slave hardware communication processing state machine module to fill in the space of this aspect, and the state machine is realized via Verilog Hardware Description Language on CPLD. Furthermore, a PROFIBUS-DP communication system is built for verifying the slave. Based on the experimental results, it is found that the controller could transmit-receive data to the master station accurately and the slave has a satisfied performance.
