Abstract :
This paper presents a general control strategy for internal combustion linear generator integrated power system (ICLG). The linear electric machine of the ICLG works alternately as motor and generator during one working cycle and its conversion efficiency is vital to the system. By analyzing the working principle of ICLG, a generic PID algorithm is designed and Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) is utilized to adjust the target current of the system. Through analysis and calculation, the entire ICLG model is built and simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The results show that the generating efficiency of the system is 40.8% under a low compression ratio with a high expansion ratio and the conversion efficiency of the linear electric machine reaches 92%. The switching positions of the current have great effects on the output power of the system. The results obtained here may provide some theoretical guidance for the development and optimal design of the system.
