Abstract
The utilization of digital control techniques for voltage regulation of DC-DC converters offer several advantages over the conventional analog controllers. The design and PIC microcontroller based implementation of a digital controller for a zero voltage switching DC-DC buck converter are presented here. The modelling and control strategies of conventional and soft switching converters remain the same and the digital PID controller is implemented using PIC 18F452. The steady state and dynamic response performance of the controller and ZVS operation of the converter are presented.
