Abstract
This paper presents design, modeling and simulation of an analog controlled bi-directional buck and boost converter. Due importance is given in the model to the effect of non-linear parameters in voltage converters, such as equivalent series resistance ESL of the inductor, ESR of capacitor and RDS(on) of MOSFET switches. Analog controllers are designed using type I, II or III compensation. Simulations of a bi-directional buck and boost converter are performed with Matlab/Simulink. Implementation of the converter with the analog controller is also presented.
