Abstract :
For the Adaptive Beamformer (ABF) of the RADAR to direct the main beam towards the desired target while placing nulls at the interfering jammer signals, the angle of arrival of all the incoming signals should be known beforehand[7]. Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms computes the angle of arrivals of incoming signals, which are given as an input to the ABF. In this research work two prominent DOA algorithms such as MUSIC and ESPRIT are analyzed for their performance on Uniform Linear Array (ULA). The criteria for the determining the most efficient DOA algorithm may vary for different applications. In this research, the criterions considered are: Rate of convergence, Good resolution of closely spaced sources, Ability to resolve any number of sources with equal accuracy and finally the computational time efficiency.
