Abstract :
In this paper, the capability of passive coherent location (PCL) radar utilizing digital video broadcasting (DVB-T) as an illuminator of opportunity to detect helicopters and especially their rotational modulation caused by main rotor blades is discussed and analysed. Theoretical analysis is proved by measurement data analysis from experimental PCL receiver. Simultaneously, potential of PCL radar in non-cooperative target recognition (NCTR) application field is introduced.
