Abstract :
Considering the increasing demand for automobile radars, a widespread investigation about mutual interference is an important step towards high market penetration and compatibility between coexisting systems. The European Commission funded the project MOSARIM to address these topics. The paper presented here introduces a hardware which is capable of generating transmit signals used in actual automotive radars. This normalized interfering device, the so-called Norm Interferer (NI), supports the test of radars on their immunity against interference. Within this paper the basic ideas behind the NI are explained as well as a detailed description of the developed system is given.
