Abstract :
The paper presents an overview of the research and technology development taking place in India in the area of millimeter wave circuits and subsystems. The work reported is primarily being carried out in Academic Institutions, Indian Space Research Organization, Defence Research Development Organizations, Government Funded National Research Laboratories and local industries. The technologies that are currently being used are based on conventional waveguides, planar transmission lines, dielectric integrated guides, suspended stripline, LTCC, MEMS, MMIC, CMOS and metamaterials. Recent initiatives by the Government to setup/augment foundries for fabricating millimeter wave MMICs, MEMS, CMOS and LTCC circuits will also be presented.
