Abstract
Geriatric rehabilitation facilitates therapeutic interventions whose purpose is to restore functional ability or enhance residual functional capability in elderly people with disabling impairments. Despite great demand for such interventions, limited research has been conducted in utilizing telemedicine to promote geriatric rehabilitation. Previously we reported successful implementation of physical telerehabilitation in patients with multiple sclerosis. In this article, we seek to extend our experience in implementing physical telerehabilitation systems to supporting home-based exercise in older adults. The goal of this report is to describe design and implementation of a geriatric telerehabilitation system facilitating safe cycling exercise at senior citizen homes.
