Group projects are essential for graduate level programs. This paper presents a study on student experiences from immersive and traditional online group projects. The study revealed that student engagement in group projects is a distinguishable construct worth to be studied further. Review of conducted research on student engagement revealed also that there is a need of a reliable and valid measure of student engagement in group projects.
