  • Abstract
    A new background updating algorithm of timely replacement of a central regional background was presented in this paper aiming at the PTZ camera video surveillance scenes. Before the object moving out of the setting field, the camera was static and the background subtraction algorithm was used to detect the moving object. Once the object moving out of the setting field, the camera which was controlled by the program rotates and we used the information of two images before and after the rotation to synthesize a new background for the detection of moving targets. When the target moved out of the setting field of view once again, the same method was employed to control the camera´s rotation and updating the background timely. It can detect a moving object accurately and quickly and the timing controlling of the camera´s rotation can realize the detection and tracking an object in a dynamic background.
