Abstract
The paper describes in a synthetic form the main criteria for the classification of piezoelectric ultrasonic motors, including a short description of the operating principles of different such motor types, with specific figures. Details about power losses and heat transfer are also presented. Conclusions are drawn regarding the specific operating conditions, application opportunities and directions of future research in the domain of piezoelectric ultrasonic motors.
