Abstract
The indigence for inexpensive wireless sensor device operating under strict energy constraints, data transmission range and size limits poses new challenges in the design methodology for the antenna in wireless sensor communication. This report presents designing and optimization of reliable antenna at ISM band. A reflector is placed behind the antenna to increase its gain. An interesting characteristic is its planar structure which allowing an easy fabrication with low cost. This antenna can be used for indoor or outdoor applications. Simulation and measurement will be carried out using Ansoft HFSS simulator tool to create predictable planar dipole antenna and to examine the antenna characteristics as return loss, gain and radiation patterns. Comparisons between simulation results of antennas with and without reflector are done in order to formalize the suggested design.
