Abstract :
We provide an overview of the various campus wide “Green” projects at the University of California, San Diego aiming for higher energy saving and efficiency for buildings and facilities. We present results on novel photovoltaic and photoelectrochemical cells based on semiconductor nanostructures, including compound semiconductor quantum wells and Si-based nanowires, for solar energy generation and storage.
