Abstract :
In this paper, an improved VGS/R reference circuit capable of generating both voltage and current references is proposed. Compared with the conventional VGS/R reference circuit which can only provide a temperature independent current reference, the new circuit generates both temperature independent voltage reference and temperature independent current reference without any extra cost on power dissipation. Simulation results show that the proposed circuit gives a reference voltage of 585 mV with a Temperature Coefficient (TC) of 4.9 ppm/°C and a reference current of 744 nA with a temperature coefficient of 30 ppm/°C from -50°C to 120°C.
