Abstract :
This paper describe the needs to have a new model development infrastructure due to the divergence of device structures in the sub-0.1μm gate length that makes conventional approach of model development and distribution fall behind the technology progress. In order to have a practical model with enough flexibility to accommodate a wide variety of technologies and not-fully understood device physics in the initial state of device introduction, vigorous engineering techniques in addition to physical derivation is required. Our effort in developing a compact model distribution platform, the i-MOS (interactive Modeling and Online Simulation) is also described in this work.
