The influence of visual stimuli on just noticeable difference of loudness

In this paper, the influence of the presentation of visual stimuli on the just noticeable difference (JND) of puretone loudness was investigated. In the psychoacoustic experiments visual stimuli with four kinds of image features, such as color feature, quality, moving state and illumination, were presented to subjects with the audio stimuli simultaneously. From experiment results, it is concluded that loudness JND would rise at varying degree in the mode of auditory-visual interaction.
