Abstract
The first two satellites (HJ-1 A/B) which belong to the Small Satellite Constellation for Environment and Disaster Monitoring and Forecasting have been operated successfully for 3 years, since they were launched on September 6, 2008. The satellites data have been widely applied to the disaster monitoring and assessment. In this paper, the two service modes of international service of HJ-1 satellites image data will be expounded, especially the operation of emergency service mode will be illuminated, including data acquisition, data processing, and data sharing. Then there are several examples will be described in this paper, such as fire assessment in Australia, Chile earthquake monitoring, Venezuela flood monitoring, drought monitoring in the horn of Africa. The application capability of HJ-1 satellites data in international service will be analyzed.
